 FINAL SHOW

Intercollege Larnaca proudly hosted an exhibition of the work of the Graphic Design Students of the college. The opening of the exhibition took place on June 16th at the InterGallery of Intercollege Larnaca. Eighteen students exhibited their work, representing the work of students from all academic levels of the college. A variety of work was exhibited, demonstrating the students talents in corporate identity, package design, advertising, poster design and much more.

Also on exhibit was the impressive 2.5 meter sculpture of a mother and baby elephant which the students produced from entirely recycled materials. The elephants were constructed as a team based project under the direction of their lecturers: Ms. Debby Heffernan, Mr. Panayiotis Voulgaris and Mr. Alex Grand Michalides. The Graphic Design Department created the sculpture to support TOP Biodiversity, the first International Conference on Biodiversity which was also hosted by Intercollege Larnaca in early June.

The students commented that building the sculptures was a unique undertaking and that the results were even more successful and exciting than they had imagined. Ms. Debby Heffernan spoke of the impact the team project had on the department as a whole, “The students were transformed by this project, staying on after hours and coming in on their days off to work on the elephants . It was a great experience for all.” The elephants continue to be on display at the InterGallery for the summer, all are welcome to visit.
