STUDENT CONFERENCE & BUSINESS LUNCH

On December 1st, 2010, a student conference was organized by the class of Meetings, Conferences and Incentives (Hosp 360) under the supervision of their Lecturer Elena Spanou. The topic of the conference was “Career opportunities in the Travel and Tourism Industry” and it took place in the Amphitheatre of Intercollege, Larnaca. A number of representatives were invited by the lecturer to give a presentation on their job and career perspectives within the industry. Please find bellow a list of the speakers in the conference and the company that they represent. Mrs Chryso Perikou, an Executive Housekeeper from Aldiana Hotel resort Mrs Marina Filimianova, Health and Safety Manager from Golden Bay Hotel Mr Kyriakos Theodosiou, an Executive Chef from Napa Plaza hotel Mr Dimitrsi Dimitrioui, the General Manager from Easy hotel Mr Savvas Savva a Restaurant Manager from McDonald’s Christos Christou, a Passenger handling agent from Cyprus Airways Larnaca international Airport. The Student of the Meetings, Conferences and Incentives was responsible under the guidance of his lecturer to plan, execute this event and also act as the presenter during the conference.
 This semester, in order to create a more interesting concept, the class of Meetings, Conferences and incentives collaborated with the classes of Food Production and Service Operations (Hosp 111 A) and the class of Restaurant Operations Management (Hosp 211A) under the supervision of their lecturer Daniel Le Garrec. These two classes were responsible in providing the Coffee break served to the speakers before the commencement of the conference, and also prepared and served a three course business lunch at the end of the conference.
